• Traditional (Transmissive) Displays use only backlight LCD technology, limiting brightness for readability in outdoor environments.

• Transflective Displays incorporate two complimentary techniques: (1) light from the backlight and (2) reflective ambient light

  • When exposed to sunlight, the display leverages sunlight to increase brightness of LCD using a Transflector layer

  • In darker environments, the backlight illuminates LCD
