GOAL: Andon System to monitor and collect Takt times for an assembly line manufacturer leading to an increase in productivity.
 
KNOWLEDGE: TCIC was contacted because we are experts at SCADA and HMI engineering.
 
TOOLS: We were provided a graphical specification from the client. We quoted RedLion HMI panel and PTV panel with ProducTVity station, displayed on dual 60" TV's with results sent to an SQL database.
 
APPLICATION: Line operators enter takt times and other pertinent parameters such as alarms and other items specified by the manufacturing process. Data is analyzed realtime by Microsoft Tools and immediate adjustments to manpower line loading and tasks can be made to increase productivity and efficiency. TCIC performed the installation and all software engineering and installation.
 
RESULTS: Anecdotal reports at this time indicate a 5-7% productivity increase.
